Dear Communities,
I got one datastore that contain one VM (ESXi version 5.0) was inaccessible. From the performance chart, it looks like something weird with latency from 2.00PM-2.40PM. The chart going crazy for the latency, up and down significantly. I should force power off the VM, and so far the OS (Windows Server 2003) and an applications inside the VM (SAPECC6, SQL Server 2005) are still Okay and can boot and run normally after the forced restart, but I don't know for how long this good 'fortune' could happen to us. The problem already occured for some times, but the time cannot be predicted. The only thing that we can predict is the problem occured always exactly at 2.00PM, but at random day. From the event viewer we checked after the restart, we found the error is :
source : symmpi
event id : 9
The device, \Device\Scsi\symmpi1, did not respond within the timeout period.
My company and Fujitsu Indonesia as our vendor have reported this problem to VMware, the answer is the VM is okay as they checked on the graph and log, but actually we didn't check this problem as an system entity that connected one another.
As I mentioned above, we used :
VM : VMware ESXi 5.0
OS : Windows Server 2003
Application : SAP ECC6, SQL Server 2005
If one of this community have same problems with us, or have environment like we have and knew how to solve this problems, please help us.
This is a serious problem because this VM contains SAP and all data and transactions proccessed in our company ran here.
Thank you and much appreciate for your help.
Thanks and regards,
Aisin Indonesia
