So I have seen articles and some posts here and there throughout the web about having difficulty and not being able to upgrade to windows 10 because the windows 10 compatibility check found there system incompatible. Not sure if this has changed but if you had a Windows VM with and SVGA adapter this was a issue there is an easy way to work around it.
1. You have already reserved your copy of windows.
2. Add this regedit to windows, HKLM>Software>Microsoft>Windows>WindowsUpdate>OSUpgrade DWORD 32bit "AllowOSUpgrade" and give it a value of 1 in hexadecimal. ignore the quotations
3. Open windows update and you should see windows 10 is available for download and install, even though the compatibility check still things you cannot upgrade.
