We just did a P2v of our SolarWinds Orion NPM server. Afterward, all our Orion NPM nodes lost SNMP connection although their SNMP services still showed Started. We had to touch all the individual target nodes individually to restart the SNMP service to restore connection. Of the 200 nodes all but 4 Windows 2003 Web servers were restored with their SNMP services. The 4 Web servers were initially connected back with the snmp service restart but every week since then the snmp services looses the connection and we have to restart the services.
Solarwinds can not see that the issue is on their end. So, I'm asking here if anyone has experienced snmp service loss. The message we continually get is snmp timeout failure.
This problem only happened after the conversion. All was fine while the server was physical.
