I am attempting to convert a virtual disk from thin to thick in a 5.1 environment. I shutdown the VM, choose migrate, on "select disk format" I choose "thick eager zeroed". I choose the other datastore in the datastore cluster as the destination. I watch the status move slowly to 100% as the virtual disk migrates. Afterward I look at the disk format and it is still a thin disk. Why can't I convert my virtual disk from thin to thick? Why is it still in thin format after the migration?
