VM in Portrait View?

I just built a new desktop machine.  I'm running Kubuntu 16.04 and have Workstation Pro 12.5 on it.  I created a Windows 10 VM, which works, but:  although my Linux is running in portrait view (screen turned 90 degrees), the VM insists on being in landscape view, which means it extends off the screen.  Within Windows 10, when I go into Settings/Display, the options to rotate the screen are grayed out.

The video card on the Linux machine is the GeForce GTX 750 Ti.  It is running NVIDIA's 367.57 driver, which I believe is the latest.  Within Linux, the display settings show the monitor rotated 90 degrees, as it should be.

I have no idea what to try next.  Within Workstation, the hardware setting for the VM display is on Audo detect, and, on the right side of the panel, "Use host settings for monitors."

I have a snapshot of the VM, so I can try just about anything without losing my place.  Ideas are welcome.  Thanks in advance.
